Andretti: Sprint Cup highly unlikely in '13

Holy cow! 3 stories in less than two weeks?


Too bad Andretti is having problems with sponsorship, but even the established teams are struggling to keep the ones they have.

Excellent point -- he does not understand the concept of shut up, get in, sit down, and drive ... but when he gets behind the wheel he can run with the best of them if he has good euipment under him ...

I agree. It's bc of people in seats who don't belong there, over others that do. I can think of one who drives a #7 go daddy car for one.

It's less about talent and more about what sponser you can bring now days.

I know you love her, but its the truth. Compare her with her teamate and come talk to me. She may deserve a ride, but not one of the best cars. Im sorry, she is not worth that based off talent. yeah im a harvick fan, but I thought he was wrong in what he said. I don't know if he was more wrong in attacking her or for making danica some great driver. Either way it was bs. Danica has a chance for a really good finish today. Field is limited and her car is flat out fast everyweek. The minute she does get a top 5, people will say, SEE. Then ones like myself will say see what? Josh Wise managed to get top 5s in that car. Yes Josh freaking Wise. Everytime last year they would put someone in it like kasey kahne or mark martin, with no practice, they would run great or get a top 5. She has one top 5 in that car in like 30 something starts and that was bc of pit strategy. Look im sick of myself hatin on her, but I just don't understand why people can't see shes not that good. I know she brings sponsership, I know she is better than most female drivers, but for the topnotch car she has, the attention and publicity she gets, she doesn't deserve either. That's all Im saying. I will hear those words though when saying something people don't wanna hear. Haters gonna hate. lol

she's probably the least experienced stock car driver in the series. she had 0 stock car experience before coming to the nationwide series.. no one is going to hop in a car with no experience and set the world on fire

Derrick Copes girl is the one I was talking about that couldn't get out of the way. Kid, Grandkid, she didn't move over. I have met them on the freeway before (sigh)

People like them.

Hate to harp on the obvious but a start up team (even with a Andretti pedigree) in this version of Nascar (38% audience decline in the last 5 years) must be near impossible.

As far a Danica goes she does bring her own sponsor which is about all I can say positively. Heck she she has even lost some of her 'feistiness' without which she is just like all the other cookie cutter drivers. At least when she got mad she was fun, that was then and now she is just boring.

There has always been a little of the wwf mentality in racing from the local track announcers to the local drivers. Today the announcers are so careful not to offend anyone they have become as melba toast as the drivers.
So the drivers are afraid to say anything or deviate from the prescribed script (they actually practice their victory celebration via Rouch's Gong show, that made me ill to see that). Ever notice every interview is that same thing, over and over again?
Personality someone, anyone?
The announcers are terrible for the most part, just mouth pieces following script.

What exactly happened Nascar in the last 10 years? This sport used to provided a unique look at Americans, not anymore. The fun is gone and the racing is good but not very interesting.

Oh I forgot to mention the cars are IROC in similarity, Nascar should have seen that coming!

I agree, They could not look more similar, notice the word Mustang on the Fords. Are they kidding

Dodge is about done with Cup. Andretti wasn't going to save them. All the hard work Ray Evernham did to get Dodge into Cup is now down the drain.
