09:26 AM ET 07.22 | Terry Bross, agent for Shane Doan, said by email Saturday that the Penguins remain "in the mix" for the unrestricted free agent. The Penguins made a contract offer to Doan earlier this month, and Bross said he has kept in touch with general manager Ray Shero. Bross declined to say whether Doan might visit the Penguins while he is in the east after attending collective bargaining agreement negotiations between the NHL and the players association in New York. He reportedly visited the Rangers and Flyers on his trip.

then again he is 35 by the time his contract expires the team might be happy to see his backside not cause he wouldn't be contributing I'm sure even with eroding skills he'd still be a great 3rd liner but at the money he's going to get

Perfect fit for a lot of teams. Every team in the NHL can benefit from what Doan brings to the game. Not enough players like him in the NHL. Contraction will fix that.

July 22, 2012  06:49 PM ET

and as with parise, the doan watch continues.
