10:22 AM ET 07.22 | CBS News has learned that the NCAA will announce what a high-ranking association source called "unprecedented" penalties against both the Penn State University football team and the school. "I've never seen anything like it," the source told correspondent Armen Keteyian. coach k-rat has JoePa's back. Penn State is a cash cow on the gridiron for the NCAA. One year bowl ban, loss of football scholarships and a hefty fine.

What exactly did Penn State Football do against the rules??? What NCAA rules did the Football program break? Penn State means more to the Nation than the victims in the long term via jobs and the millions put into the economy. It's not like the victims are tax paying contributors to our society.

SMH, all I can say is WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, this is an interesting precedent. I've never heard of the NCAA penalizing a team for criminal or other misconduct that didn't affect fairness on the field. I am curious how the NCAA will tie this in to its regulations. This could be a very dangerous precedent.

The thing I wonder is if the moral clauses could ban them from being part of the NCAA.

It would be interesting to see what else has been swept under the rug in years past with dictator like coaches in the NCAA
