08:00 AM ET 07.23 | Somewhat surprisingly, based on the money they threw around after the lockout, the Eagles are actually in good shape financially. [Even after pricy deals for Michael Vick, LeSean McCoy, DeSean Jackson and Nnamdi Asomugha], the Eagles are well under the salary cap for 2012 (by more than $16 million) and in a great position to lock up talent for the long haul, something this organization has done better than almost any in the NFL the past decade. Their top priority appears to be WR Jeremy Maclin, who has two years left on his rookie deal. ... It's quite possible that the team and Maclin come to an agreement on a long-term deal prior to the start of the regular season.

Y'know, if you lock in a bunch of guys who finished 8-8 last year, you could end up with an 8-8 team for years to come.

The Iggles do a great job "locking up their talent", not so great at winning with said talent.

That's nice, players taken care of but a fanbase left sobbing in their hanky's b/c of embarrassing football played on the field.

So any way you look at it, the common point is coaching.
