Odd men out in Miami WR race

08:05 AM ET 07.23 | HBO's cameras will no doubt cover the quarterback race in Miami, but the jockeying for wide receiver may also make for compelling television. Brian Hartline and Davone Bess are safe; Chad Ochocinco is still too gifted physically not to make it unless he struggles grasping the offense. ... If Ochocinco and [Legedu Naanee] stick, that leaves one or two spots for Roberto Wallace (most impressive of the unproven ones), Marlon Moore (good speed but some exasperating drops), Clyde Gates (still thinking too much), Julius Pruitt (three touchdowns in one June practice), and long shots Chris Hogan (the second-year kid from Monmouth who was decent in May/June work), B.J. Cunningham (too many drops), Rishard Matthews [and Jeff Fuller].

There's a qb race? And Ocho not grasping the playbook? Shocking!

I guess since the Heat have won now there isn't much to report on in Miami. Maybe they should just start filling any Fins posts with the Miami Bikini of the Day. At least then there'd be something worth checking out.

The No-Name Defense was famous. This no-name bunch of wideouts will not be, unless one of them can arrange to be knifed by his old lady.

I Think they'll have their Hands Full, with all of those guys who drop passes!!

HBO should get their money's worth this year.

July 23, 2012  08:55 AM ET

They brought Ocho in for the HBO cameras. I doubt if they cut him.

Ocho could contribute, but he has to learn the playbook. Lazy **** failed to do so in NE last season.

I don't think he's lazy. He just doesn't have the head for it.

How do you expect him to learn the playbook when he spends 12hrs a day on Twitter??? Oh well at least he's dedicated to something LOL!!

Nice!

Does it really matter for the fins? The QB spot is suspect at best. I like Moore as a gamer but he doesn't have the skills to make this team a playoff contender. .500 is the best for the fins IMO.

They also brought him in bc their WRs suck! He can still probably be their #1 there...smh...I bet somewhere the "Marks Brothers" are warming up

Sounds like they are going to drop about 6 or 7 WRs--they may have to wait to decide which ones to drop until they decide who is going to play QB--some might work better than others with a particular QB.

LOL I recognize Ocho. How pathetic is that for him to be number one.

None.

Now Ocho has changed his name back to Chad Johnson (due to his new wife making him do it) lets see if he stays out of the limelight and concentrates on football, its his last chance to prove he can play.
