This was such a perfect situation for Ozzie and as per usual, he couldn't stay out of his own way.

Where are all the folks who predicted a playoff spot for the Marlins now?

The team should look to trade several of their guys, including Carlos Lee, who they just acquired from Houston. Clean house. Start over.

marlins ownership does not care about winning, they care about money. they got the city to pay for the new ballpark, got a bunch of money during the first half of the season and are now going to trade the high priced players so they can try and make more money. these guys need to be out of baseball

The selling now is something we haven't seen before...

Usually they sell everyone after they've Won a championship...

This year, they made some bad decisions on FA's and have a bunch of guys under performing - but I think (with a couple of tweaks) they could have had another run next year.

I don't recall predictions that this team would win the World Series--I recall people saying they were in a good place to win their division. And they were in the hunt until recently. It looks as though they have decided that Washington is going to keep on playing as they have been, and Miami won't be able to catch them. And playing for WC for a 1 game playoff isn't worth it.

Does anyone else think that Ozzie got WAY too much credit for the White Sox World Series run a few years back? Starting to seem like the vets on that team may have been the driving force behind that title, not the crazy man who somehow brought a team together.

eveybody knew all along the way, plus florida marlins had been known as a desmantle owner franchise for a very long time,,,,
