Golden defiant in face of recent allegations

08:19 AM ET 07.24 | Al Golden knew what was waiting for him at the ACC's media days: questions about the ongoing investigation into Nevin Shapiro, a recent Yahoo! Sports report alleging hat Golden had "direct knowledge" of UM recruiting-related improprieties, and Monday's blockbuster sanctions against Penn State. Golden told The Miami Herald in an individual interview earlier Monday that his "good name" was still intact. And though he said he couldn't comment on the specifics of the Yahoo! report released Friday, he adamantly defended his integrity, as he did Friday in a written statement released shortly after the Yahoo! report surfaced. "I stand on what I said on Friday," Golden said. "I stand on my record of compliance with the NCAA."

Would you expect him to say anything differently.

Exactly. Always deny, deny, deny.

TCU hires Shannon as linebackers coach - WOW

Arky had him hired for about 5 mins as DC but the deal fell apart of salary and contract. Surprised he ends up as a LB coach for TCU

Good get for Big XII IMO

QUOTE(#6):

Does this mean TCU pays more than Arkie?

I guess.....or they agree to a 3-yr contract for assistant coaches.

Prob means Shannon's savings account is smaller now than it was a year ago!

I do not understand how they could pay more for a linebackers coach than you guys would for a DC? Just do not see that. Maybe it had more to do with what you said, a longer deal. Still, just does not make too much sense.

I think it just shows that RS is more desperate now than he was a year ago.

Either that or the wife said she would leave if he didn't get off the couch and do something.

Don't know any specifics on this but have read about the rumors for a couple of days now. Do know that TCU has a good DC in place and this is also GP's specialty. Last week the LB coach left for personal reasons to work at the high school level...has two sons in hs this year. From what I've seen, Shannon has been a LB specialist for a long time and may be a pretty good coach for it. On the surface it seems that it may be a good deal...however I admit to being an avid frog fan and therefore not qualified to represent unbiased opinions to this esteemed group.

In other words: I hesitate to articulate for fear of jeopordizing my verasity. lol

Miami U is a disgrace to D1 football and should be given the death penalty. Heck no one attends the games anyway and the thugs playing never graduate. Disband that cess pool of a program.

How come you only bring up the good points of the Miami program?
