VaTech getting creative at tailback

08:20 AM ET 07.24 | After slimming down in the offseason, Frank Beamer had a lot to pack in Monday -- from nutritional advice and welcoming back Cody Journell to outlining freshman Trey Edmunds' future at tailback. Beamer compared [redshirt freshman tailback Michael Holmes'] potential to quarterback Logan Thomas' "It's kind of like you felt with Logan last year this time," Beamer said. "He hadn't done it. But you thought he was going to be OK. That's kind of how I feel like at tailback with Michael Holmes." Despite that endorsement, Beamer is ticketing Edmunds, a renowned tailback/linebacker from Dan River High, for offense this season. "Right now I think that's where the real need is," Beamer said. "That's where a guy can come in and play right now."

yea but the acc itself is pretty weak. big east finished higher then acc did last year. not tech's fault. i don't like them but gotta say they've been the face since joining.
