08:06 AM ET 07.25 | The Minnesota makeover continues. [The Timberwolves] are clearing salary-cap space to target free-agent forward Andrei Kirilenko by helping facilitate a three-team trade that would send Phoenix's Robin Lopez and Hakim Warrick to the New Orleans Hornets, league sources told Yahoo! Sports. The trade gathered momentum Tuesday night and centered on Lopez agreeing to a three-year, $15 million-plus contract and moving to the Hornets in a sign-and-trade agreement, league sources told Y! Sports. The rest of the deal included the Timberwolves sending small forward Wesley Johnson and a lottery-protected first-round draft pick to the Suns, sources said. ... [Brad Miller] and Warrick are also expected to be on the move.

The All-Point Guard team failed so Kahn is trying to replicate the roster of the last NBA title in MN history by going with an All-White starting five!

This story is incomplete doesn't mention what the teams are getting back
Suns: Send Lopez, Warrick to Hornets
Wolves: Send Johnson, 1st round pick to Suns ?
Hornets: Mentions Brad Miler being sent and cut is that it? Can't be doesn't make sense.

You can't help but like the roster they're building, but fact is they're relying on two 19 year olds to play starting roles which just doesn't end well in terms of W's.

Is AK47 ( no of the old, but right now) that much of an upgrade over Wes Johnson? Plus losing a 1st round pick?
The real question is - when is kahn getting fired?

AK47 is the MVP of this year Eurobasket. He still can play for a few years. And yes, AK is an upgrade over Wes Jonson. He's not a max-contract player of the past, but well worth 9 mils per year.

So they sent Johnson and his cap space along with a lottery protected pick to NO to make room for AK47, when they clearly needed a SG. At least they will keep the pick because I see them being lottery bound again. Maybe they have another SG on the market they are targeting.

Can't see this one coming off unless T'Wolves are willing to throw a boat load of cash at AK-47. The Nets couldn't sign him, so what are the T'Wolves offering that could beat playing in New York?
