08:14 AM ET 07.25 | As of Tuesday afternoon, Bill O'Brien hadn't lost a player in the wake of the NCAA's severe sanctions. [O'Brien] has been in constant communication with his players, via team meetings Monday and Tuesday and a number of talks with individuals, to make sure the team stays intact. "We've got a bunch of standup, tough, smart Penn State kids that care about this university and care about this football team," he said. "They've developed a lot of chemistry over the last six months with this university, with this coaching staff. I feel very good about where we're at right now. We'll find out what type of team we have when we start practice on Aug. 6. ... We're telling our football team to remember why you came here."

MOney isn't everything...I'm guessing this guy falls asleep at night maybe wishing he had stayed with the Pats.

Wow! That's harsh!
There is no doubt there has to be a serious change in culture at that university. However, I feel really bad for the football players who have signed on. Those kids didn't do anything to start or maintain the controversy or to cover it up. Paterno and the administrative toadies did. And now they're gone. Even though the players can move on to other places without sitting out for a year, I still feel like they're collateral damage in this issue; they're being punished without doing anything wrong.

Really...if anybody needs it it is this guy.
Gotta say, Bill really has the look of an old school football coach, at least in that photo.

This guy is in a really good situation. He is not following a legend anymore in the pure sense of the word, he is not expected to win and now this job has a low stress level for the forseeable future.
