08:16 AM ET 07.25 | Nathan Horton, according to Boston's GM, should be good to go once Bruins training camp opens. Peter Chiarelli confirmed that the 27-year-old winger, who played in only 46 games last season after battling concussions, should be ready to play when the Bruins take the ice in September. "By all accounts from our medical staff, [Horton] will be ready to play when it comes time to play," Chiarelli said Tuesday. Horton was knocked out of the 2011 Stanley Cup Finals against the Canucks when Aaron Rome blindsided him with a check that resulted in a suspension for the Vancouver defenseman. Horton returned to the ice to start the 2011-12 season, but was sidelined again with another concussion when the Flyers' Tom Sestito took him out in January.

They better be sure this time he is already going to have issues

Start his season in January or February. GIve him a chance to be there when you need him in the playoffs.

I am glad for Horton. I love his game, and hope he is fully recovered.

This is old news. Horton has been fine for a long while. As I said a few days ago, he was symptom free during the playoffs last year and was skating, hoping to play. The Bruins decided to play it extra safe considering he had two concussions in less than 1 calender year.

I'm going to step out of line, give them credit and say that they did it on purpose. It's a great headline.

Boston did the right thing by holding him out based on the previous two. I'm glad to hear he's been good for a long while and hope he get's back up to speed without injury this season. There is just so much unknown about concussions just the word makes everyone really nervous.

I'm hoping that's the direction! :-). It was a really great show. Sorry they don't have more like that today.

Such privilege is reserved for Sidney Crosbys of the NHL.

Sounds like the infamous story of Chubby Checker a former Vancouver firefighter who got his nickname when he got caught checking out someones Johnson the ridiculing of him got so bad and he became so well known in the Emergency Services as CC that he quit. Imagine nowadays he'd be set for life after the lawsuit for harassment and mental cruelty.
