08:15 AM ET 07.26 | Presumed to be the strength of Texas, its defense took a few shots from two important sources recently. Longhorns defensive coordinator Manny Diaz made it clear Wednesday during the Texas Gridiron Kickoff at the Austin Convention Center that he expects bigger and better things in 2012, even after his defensive unit was ranked in the top 15 nationally in many major statistical categories last season. "The defense has to get better or we'll end up in the Holiday Bowl again," Diaz said. "No offense to the Holiday Bowl." ... Mack Brown interjected, saying, "People talk about how good the defense was. Well, we gave up 48 points to Baylor and helped their quarterback win the Heisman Trophy."

Really. FN needs to mix it up and find more/better sources. AAS, al.com and AJC are laughable.

I was thinking the same thing...but I would add PSU, ND, USC to the mix. Only change is LSU for Bama.

How about some variety mods? More than switching from UTx offense to defense, etc.

Yeah, a rookie's already got some opposing veterans trash talking. Gotta love it.
