08:01 AM ET 07.27 | Well, if true, this certainly isn't going to look very good on the resume of Joseph Addai, who is now looking for work after getting a look in New England. In a seemingly surprise move, the Patriots released [Addai] on the eve of training camp. But according to a league source, the veteran running back was struggling during his conditioning test and simply "quit." He was not long in New England after that. Bill Belichick's comment on the subject Thursday morning was to the point. "It didn't work out." The 29-year old back played just 20 games over the last two seasons because of injury.

The smaller Albert Haynesworth.

I remember him going out after running for a couple good gains last year with no signs of effects. He didn't see a reason to play through any pain for the struggling Colts last year which told me a lot about a guy I defended signing to a dumb contract.

Love the caption under the photo... "Joseph Addai (with the Colts)". The next photo will be "Joseph Addai (with Burger King)".

Through and through.

The word on the street here was that he didn't pass the physical. I agree with Otis and Mick. I hope he invested his Indy money well while he was getting it.

I love that about Belichek. You are gone if you don't perform. Ridley is from LSU and he was looking up to Addai, also from LSU. So, now Ridley learns another lesson. Bill B will cut his *$$ if he doesn't give 100% (or fumbles a few more times.)

Can't wait to hear his excuses

i heard he was seen at a local target buying all the grey hoodies he could and burning them while crying like the dude in forgetting sarah marshall

If the dude has any real talent left in him, he needs a foot in the rear from LT. That's a dude that wouldn't quit on you.

July 27, 2012  10:16 AM ET

That was probably his problem at Indy!
