08:19 AM ET 07.27 | Alabama defensive tackle Jesse Williams has turned a few more heads. [Williams] has made waves since arriving in Tuscaloosa from his homeland of Australia, standing out with his unique look and big personality as well as his performance on the field. The latest feat from Williams that has fans buzzing came in the weight room on Thursday when the 320-pound lineman reportedly bench pressed 600 pounds. To give that achievement some perspective, former Memphis star Dontari Poe, the top bench press performer at this year's NFL Combine, maxed out at 500 pounds on the bench press. ... "I saw @ThaMonstar (Jesse Williams) dominate 600 lbs on the bench this morning... Incredible" tweeted Alabama long snapper Carson Tinker.

Everyone should just go ahead and get in their shots about steroids, and medical hardship, and oversigning, and everything else that the Alabama boogerman has them upset about.

Relax, I would have made that comment about any player on any team.

Yawn. Like he's the only one who does it. ****-ton of weight though.

Just for kicks can you give me the name of three other guys who can legitimately claim this?

(I am not sure if my sarcasm meter is working correctly today so I cannot tell if you are joking)

Not trying to be a di(|< but I don't think Hershell or Bo ever did this. All I am saying is that 600lbs is a pretty big bench mark. I also don't think it translates into a great player but it does not hurt to have the strenght advantage.

I think Hershell was more of a proponent for core strenght and endurance and not "flashy" strenght like a bench number usually is interpreted.
