It's definitely a downgrade from the boatload of brats he got in Milwaukee.

OK who is the crazy one. Detroit thinking they can sign Doan for about $1.5 million a year or the anonymous GM in the east who thinks he's worth slightly more than $7 million a year? I think he's worth more than 1.5 but no where near worth $7.

Smart move, not sure he is worth 3 yrs at 5. Just because some team in the East will be stupid enough to overpay doesn't mean it should.

Pretty sure the 4.5 or 5 was per year, not total deal.

If true, Holland's holding his ground and being patient. Would rather the Wings look like they can't lure free agents rather than overspending just because they think they need someone.

And after today's meeting, Doan will decide to wait til they "meet again to talk." Something to be said about loyalty, sure, but Doan is starting to remind me of that girl/guy who can't take a hint. "It's not you, it's me." Damn.
