08:23 AM ET 07.27 | On Thursday in St. Paul, hockey fans couldn't walk far without bumping into an NHL star or two along the concourse at Xcel Energy Center. Over there was Zach Parise. Neal Broten was on hand. So were Thomas Vanek, Ryan Suter, Phil Housley, Mike Ramsey, Mark Parrish, Derek Stepan, Paul Martin, Nick Leddy and Reed Larson. All of them and numerous others -- players paid the same $150 to get in as did members of the public -- were on hand to help raise money for the Jack Jablonski Fund. The guest of honor was Jablonski, the former Benilde-St. Margaret's hockey player who was sitting in a wheelchair with much of his body immobilized because of a spinal injury suffered during a hockey game on Dec. 30. ... "As far as events go," Vanek said, "this is probably the biggest one I've ever been to."

two things stand out here though;
1) The "Hockey Community" more than any other sport, is certainly the best of the major team sports. The players are always more giving of their time, and they seem to truly want to help. Ithin it comes from the backgrounds of these guys.
2) Phil Housley? Reed larson?

oh yeah, and this picture was olde even when Pariese was still on the Devils...can we update please?

Agreed.

I know Reed Larson played a year or two in Boston, but I could pick him out of a line up if my life depended on it.

I definitely associate him with the Red Wings too even though he did a stint in Boston.

My lasting impression of him is a wicked slapshot. Dude had a cannon.
