Giroux blames Crosby for surgery

09:46 AM ET 07.28 | Flyers fans' lasting impression of the team's first-round playoff series against the Pittsburgh Penguins might be Claude Giroux's first shift of Game 6, when in 32 seconds Giroux crushed Sidney Crosby before going on to score the game's first goal. The Flyers went on to win that game and eliminate the Pens from the postseason. Giroux's lasting reminders, however, will come in the form of a pair of scars on his wrists, resulting from two surgeries he underwent this summer. Turns out, according to the Timmins Press, the injuries and resulting scars are care of Crosby. "Those are from [Sidney] Crosby," Giroux told the paper. "Every time we'd line up against each other for a face-off during our series, instead of going for the puck when it was dropped, he'd hack me across the wrists. I ended up playing the series against Jersey with one of them fractured and had to go for surgery on both of them after we were out of the playoffs."

I've watched a few Penguin games and I watched that series with the Flyers I can see why people get so mad a Sid for hacking other players. I've watched other teams go out of their way to avoid hitting him and have actually apologized if their stick came up a little on him.

Seriously? U guys are joking right? That was a brutal series of hacks and cheap shots GIVEN OUT BY ALL PLAYERS ON BOTH TEAMS. Hello??? So save the sidney BS. Every player with the possible exception of Jags was all hack all the time. For Giroux to say that is completely pathetic. Especially after he was suspended for his own intent to injure cheap shot. Let it go dude, it just makes you look like a clown. Total ridiculous. Joec got it right, Sidney was 4% the hack that Mess or Clarkie or Howe were. Giroux needs to shut his mouth... at the very least until he's won something. Ugh reeeediculous.
