Ducks coach aided 'Canes Semin decision

10:15 AM ET 07.28 | One of the people Alexander Semin can thank for being a new member of the Carolina Hurricanes is ??? Bruce Boudreau? According to Hurricanes general manager Jim Rutherford, the former head coach of the Capitals and current head coach of the Anaheim Ducks played an integral role in him pursuing Semin and signing the Russian winger to a one-year, $7 million contract on Thursday. "I remember having a relatively long conversation with Bruce Boudreau, his former coach, at the [June 22, 23] draft," Rutherford said Friday at a news conference. "That was the start of us really doing our homework leading to this signing." Rutherford didn't stop there. He tracked down some of Semin's former teammates, coaches and just about anyone else familiar with the 28-year-old winger and his reputation of being an aloof, selfish and enigmatic star.

I know..1 of the great injustices of the NHL..Semin got so ripped off only getting a 1 year deal..especially when players are getting 14 year deals..1 of the NHL's most talented players only getting a 1 year deal....cannot believe it either.

I got a question...how long before Rutherford totally regrets this signing ?? I think it took 1/3 of the season for him to totally regret the Kaberle signing...i set the bar at 30 games also...i say he's dealt AFTER the 30 game mark....i say at 37 games he gets dealt.
