09:06 AM ET 07.29 | An official with another team that made an offer for Hanley Ramirez told us: "We offered better prospects, but [the Dodgers] were going to pay his salary. New stadium and you trade so much money away in less than four months? Worst opening of a stadium we've ever seen." Dissatisfaction with Ramirez extended beyond teammates. One Marlins official said he's simply not a winner; the coaching staff strongly pushed for this move.

Keep Da Prospects, Show Me Da Money, Loria!!!

As a Sox fan, I am thrilled that Boston did NOT trade for this tool.

I have always thought that he was letting his talent do all the work. He doesnt seem to work very hard, and he seems to not try or care during games. He and Starlin Castro seem the most disconnected during games of any players in the league.

Jose Reyes went from the frying pan to the deep dryer............

When you hire Ozzie to be your manager, what do you expect?

lol--yep he did

Isn't HanRam a guy that Epstein was criticized for trading away? If so, that trade is looking like pure genius now, even if all he got back was a bent paperclip.

Your right but his production is down this year, and he should do a lt better in that park!! It looks like he's changed his game?

To win, I'd imagine.

Coaching Staff says he's not a Winner?

I don't imagine the Fish are gonna be doing much winning after this purge...

old news already been traded.

July 29, 2012  02:43 PM ET

Maybe Ramirez was more upset about the team bringing in Reyes and moving him to 3rd.....Either way the Dodgers got an upgrade at 3rd, I don't expect to see Uribe next year....

Uribe is a FA?

No, but hopefully he is traded or released......he has 1 more year on a terrible 3 year contract....

Those fans and media didn't really want the Sox to win that championship in 2007.

Utility guy. Contract is guaranteed.

Another reason it was a terrible contract, he's making $8.2M this year and batting .190......I'd take the lost and release him....money isn't an issue with McCourt gone, although $8M is a lot, but he's useless.....
