09:39 AM ET 07.29 | That was Gophers men's basketball coach Tubby Smith, armed with a three-year contract extension worth nearly $6.5 million, in Las Vegas this weekend watching 6-foot-7 incoming De La Salle junior Reid Travis in an under-17 AAU tournament. Travis is the state's third-best junior, behind guards Tyus Jones of Apple Valley and Rashad Vaughn of Robbinsdale Cooper. If the Gophers can't get Jones or Vaughn, they need to get Travis, who has received offers from Michigan State, Penn State, Gonzaga and Arizona, among others. Word is that Duke and Michigan State remain in the lead for Jones, and that Syracuse could be leading for Vaughn, although Kentucky has shown interest.

I gotta get in to this dude's pelt and crawl around for a few days. Who's the gopher's ally. His friends. The harmless squirrel and friendly rabbit.
