10:02 AM ET 07.29 | Mike Shanahan insists he isn't bluffing. The Washington Redskins coach maintains he isn't engaging in the usual NFL subterfuge and merely keeping his plans under wraps when it comes to his team's running back situation. He really has no idea, he says, who will be carrying the ball when the regular season arrives in September, whether one of the leading training-camp candidates -- Tim Hightower, Roy Helu or Evan Royster -- will emerge as a centerpiece runner or if coaches will be left to mix and match and patch together a tailback-by-committee arrangement.

With any luck, by the end of this season, we'll see T&Rs making the point, "Snyder unsure who coaches in 2013". :-)

Answer may be 'none of the above', with RGIII at the helm.

That's why they have training camp! Too bad they don't have something like that for Sports Writers!!!

Tim Hightower doesn't see to be a starter type and gets hurt easily. Time to move to a younger back.

Shanahan's not sure what he had for breakfast this morning.

3rd downs have his name written all over them.

How is that fact that Shamahan is unsure of anything newsworthy?

The way most teams use RBs any more, starting is not that important. Just do the job.

Running back by committee. Nothing to see here.

Shanahan sure gets ripped a lot on FN.

He has earned the distinction.
