Twins clubhouse wrapped in tension

08:11 AM ET 07.30 | The Francisco Liriano trade helped somewhat, but only a few more days passing will really diffuse the anxiety in Minnesota. [With] two days left for teams to trade players without passing them through waivers, there is still a fair amount of tension. Liriano was the most likely player to be dealt, but he isn't the only Twin teams are asking about. "I've only thought as far as today, wondering if today is going to be my last day or I'm going to be here for another two or three years," said leadoff man and center fielder Denard Span. "I don't know. I can't control it. Do I want to be here? Yes, but if something happens I'm going to try to accept it and take it with my best." Span, Justin Morneau and Josh Willingham are the names most often seen in media reports.

Well, at least there is something to be interested in at the ballpark. Some years they are wondering whether or not they will make the playoffs; this year its wondering who will be traded at the deadline.

I feel a bit sorry for the Twins with Morneau's concussions and Mauer's injuries basically robbing them of their two best players (I wonder how glad the Yankees are that they never had the chance to offer Mauer $200m+?!).
That said, the fact that they built a stadium which kills lefty power when their two best players (when fully fit) are lefties is a bit dumb. I know there'll be plenty of play in that park after M&M but it's been a massive fall from grace.
