08:53 AM ET 07.31 | Pistons rookie guard Kim English grew up in Baltimore, but he knows about Detroit basketball. English, who the Pistons selected in the second round (44th overall) of last month's NBA Draft, knows it was a rugged style of play that helped the Pistons ascend to the top of the basketball world back in the late 1980s and that's the type of game he wants to bring to Detroit this season. "The pedigree and the culture of the Pistons' organization is something I definitely would love and feel blessed to be a part of," he said in a video interview with Rick Mahorn. ... "From your teams -- with you and (Bill) Laimbeer, (Dennis) Rodman, Mr. Dumars, Isiah Thomas -- those teams epitomize something that I think is the utmost respect you can give to a basketball team."

Before returning the franchise to the glory days, perhaps English should concentrate on making the team.

Being a bully worked with Mahorn, the Worm, Spider Salley and Laimbeer during the Piston's championship runs. However, the Pistons have changed coaches more than Kim K. changes sex buddies. The Pistons will miss the playoffs again this season.

Pfftttt.......he'll make the team. Don't know how much toughness he'll bring to Detroit, though.
