One NBA official in contact with the Kings said they have indicated privately they would like to move Mike Bibby, and that Miami and Cleveland have shown an interest. But another executive believes Cleveland could offer a better package, especially with the Heat reluctant to include Udonis Haslem.

Hughes for Bibby. It's as simple as that.

January 13, 2008  09:50 AM ET

Am I the only one who thinks Bibby is not the player he's made out to be?

January 13, 2008  11:44 AM ET

U guys just dont want Miami 2 get him cause we took J Will and gave him a ring and u dont wanna see Bibby get a ring am sure he wont ever get 1 with the cavs. J Will, Hardaway & Luke Jackon for Bibby

January 13, 2008  12:12 PM ET

The Kings continue with rebuilding and reliefing the salary cap, but this could be a good deal for Bibby and the Cavs. The Cavs desperately need some backcourt help and Bibby has the gas for more good years to help them. Being stuck in Miami would end his career with no hope of glory.

And if he goes to Miami...he'll definitely NOT get a ring! The Heat will not be contenders again throughout Bibby's career!

This is another non story. The Cavs have nothing to trade for Bibby. Why would the Kings want Hughes?

What would make you think the Kings would want Hardaway or Luke Jackson. I seriously doubt they will want Williams back. Jackson can't get in the rotation in Miami. Why would they trade a starter for this garbage?

January 13, 2008  12:26 PM ET

Hllywd, it's called wishful thinking, and not based on reality at all.

January 13, 2008  04:46 PM ET

Hardaway and is non-guaranteed contract has been released already.

January 13, 2008  06:03 PM ET

If the Cavs want Bibby the Kings should ask for Gooden and make them take the horrible contract of Kenny Thomas. But if the Cavs refuse to take the contract of Thomas... NO DEAL.

January 13, 2008  08:16 PM ET

There's starting to be way too many rumors.. and not enough truth on this board.
Someone who told a reporter that his third cousin's nephew who is married to the sister of a staff member of the Kings told him that someone was maybe kinda, but not definetely thinking of trading someone, maybe bibby, to another team. Then it ends up on here. Give us something with a little bit of substenance please!

January 13, 2008  08:29 PM ET

I've stated this elsewhere. If cavs get Bibby and lose either of {Gooden, Sasha, Varejo} they end up losing. The really don't have much pieces to make themselves any better. If someone does take Hughes, that would be a Isiahque move

January 13, 2008  09:23 PM ET

trade hughes to the knicks...what's one more big contract?

January 13, 2008  10:02 PM ET

Bibby's trade value is higher than the actual worth of the player. He simply isn't the player he was 2-3 years ago. That said, if the Cavs can trade some deadweight for him, then go for it. I wouldn't trade Gooden, since the Cavs need his inside rebounding presence.

January 13, 2008  11:38 PM ET

the cavs dont NEED gooden's rebounding presence. with varejao playing out of his mind as of late and big Z still worth 8 - 11 rebounds a game, they shouldnt mind giving him up. that being said, i dont think any team with a player of bibby's calliber should be willing to part with him for anything less than a solid young prospect, a good starter and a 1st round draft pick. gooden isnt consistent enough to be considered a good starter, and he certainly cant be considered a prospect.

bibby can still play, but he needs good teammates around him. hes not good enough to carry a team by himself.

the only real players that i could see the kings being interested in are gibson, varajao, sasha and shannon brown. if the cavs could package shannon brown, sasha, ira newbles expiring contract and a first round draft pick for bibby, i think they could come out on top. any other move would just be desperate. the cavs have been playing better as of late; i say they should play the season out. a big trade like the one i just mentioned could put the cavs over the top, but more likely than not it would provide them with another huge contract to worry about (like hughes).

and no team by any means should ever trade for larry hughes.

January 14, 2008  02:48 AM ET

and if the kings really wanna rebuild we'll take ron ron up north, theres plenty of good contracts and depth on the raptors to swing a 2 plus a draft pick or 3 for ron ron... colangelo is up to sumthin... i can smell it

January 14, 2008  12:41 PM ET

Mike Bibby should join his father's coaching staff

January 14, 2008  03:07 PM ET

1st Trade
>Ron Artest, Kenny Thomas trade to New York for Stephon Marbury with David Lee and/or a first round pick
2nd Trade
>Bibby to Miami for Udonis Haslem, Jason Williams and a draft pick

Starting 5 for KINGS in 2008-2009 season
Marbury, Martin, Salmons, Haslem, Miller
With a bench consisting of Beno Udrih, Francisco Garcia, Mikki Moore, David Lee and their draft picks..........

January 14, 2008  06:40 PM ET

bibby is not getting traded period

January 14, 2008  07:59 PM ET

Marbury is a cancer and no way should the Kings make that trade. Artest for Balkman and Lee would be nice.

i hope he goes to cleveland and helps lebron rather than go to miami and watch shaq and dwade sit in street clothes
