Coyotes remaining under NHL care?

08:22 AM ET 08.01 | The NHL's stewardship of the Coyotes may be entering overtime. The city of Glendale agreed Tuesday to extend the National Hockey League's operating deal for Jobing.com Arena, where the league-owned Phoenix Coyotes play. The Glendale City Council held private hearings Tuesday on the NHL extension and approved the matter. "We are signing the agreement to administratively extend the term for another month. This agreement places no further obligations upon the city," said city spokeswoman Julie Frisoni. ... The move could be aimed at giving prospective Coyotes buyer Greg Jamison more time to buy the NHL-owned Coyotes. It might also set the stage for the NHL running the Phoenix franchise into the 2012-13 season.
