08:17 AM ET 08.01 | The Yankees managed to add a significant arm after Tuesday's trading deadline. Fiery reliever Joba Chamberlain, who appeared lost for the season after suffering a freak ankle injury on a trampoline toward the end of spring training, rejoined the Yanks, giving their bullpen a needed boost for the stretch run. Chamberlain had been scheduled to make his final rehab appearance at Double-A, but he got the call back to the Bronx as he was arriving at the ballpark in Trenton after GM Brian Cashman dealt reliever Chad Qualls. ... [Chamberlain didn't pitch Tuesday] but he was back in the bullpen, waiting for Joe Girardi's call. "To be honest with you, I was more nervous now, today, than I was when I got called up," Chamberlain said.

I think most of Joba's problems are in his head............If he can fix that.............He will be OK........

Is the whole "big name" thing another media swipe at his weight? The Yankees have to hope he'll make good because he's been too inconsistant to bring much in a trade.

Never thought I'd say this, but I think that Joba's mental approach is much-needed by the Yankees. After coming off a couple of series where opposing pitchers have been noticeably more aggressive throwing inside to the Yankees lineup, Joba is one of the few pitchers on the staff who isn't afraid to send a message back. It's that time of the year for the Yankees to toughen up a bit, and I'm hopeful that Joba can give them a shot in the arm.

Joba the Sloth would be better of if he lost 40 lbs of fat off his rear end. Less stress on his womanly ankles. Is he allowed to bring his trampoline to the bullpen so he can practice twirling and jumping? Gotta make him feel at home!

The real reason they brought him back was to balance out the bullpen bench. All season its been CC on one side and the rest of the pitchers on the other. With Joba balancing the other side, will give the other pitchers some more leg room.

lol, good point. You hate to see a guy stand up, and the bench fling half the rotation up into the air like an out-of-control teeter-totter.
