As a Yankee fan since 1960 , Jeter makes me want to puke during games. I hate all the back slapping with opposing players and smiles and buddy buddy BS he pulls whenever a player from the opposing team is near him.

If I am on his team or the catcher that did not throw that runner out at second I am totally pi##ed at him. And if I am the pithcer who just gave up a double to some guy while Jeter congrats him and back slaps him with that silly grin, I rip him a new a##hole in the dugout.

I must be the same generation as 50Yearfan, but you put a good perspective on the situation for me. I don't think Felix was actually trying to hit people, just had instructions to pitch inside--he looked upset when he hit ARod especially. It still needs some retaliation/reminder that both teams can pitch inside, but a 1 run game isn't the time to do it. Yanks need all the wins they can get, not get distracted by anything.

Jeter and Arod get hit all the time, mostly in the hand or wrist. Most times the pitch isn't even that far inside. They both crowd the plate and dive into the ball, especially Jeter. I remember Pedro hitting Jeter in the hand on an ESPN game, and K zone showed that the pitch was actually in the strike zone. Youkilis did the same thing and also got hit often.

I suppose you are right. I hate it though. Buddy up before the game. It is insulting to your team to congrat the other guy during a game.
Wonder how Jeter would feel if after he strikes out or hits into one of his many DPs if a team mate of his patted the other pitcher on the a## and told him "nice pitch?"

True. Hey, hitters think they can dig in so they do. Drysdale and Gibson had a cure for that. If it ain't at your head or behind you, then all is fair.

Hi 50...........I've been a Yankee fan since 1957.........Times have certainly changed since we were kids...........These players are a different breed.............
