Mbakwe key to Tubby's Gopher bonus?

09:15 AM ET 08.05 | There are plenty of performance incentives in Gophers men's basketball coach Tubby Smith's contract extension. But just two seem realistically attainable for the coming season, and Trevor Mbakwe could end up being the deciding factor. Smith would receive a $50,000 bonus if the Gophers finish fourth or tie for fourth in the Big Ten regular season. That could happen, but probably only if the 6-foot-8 Mbakwe returns healthy from the knee injury that needed reconstructive surgery last December. Without a healthy Mbakwe, the best the Gophers seemingly could hope for would be a sixth-place conference finish. There is no bonus for Smith for finishing sixth. Finishing sixth, though, could get the Gophers into the NCAA tournament. That would be worth a $100,000 bonus for Smith.

What kind of bonus would Mbakwe's dad get? Oh wait, this isn't an SEC thread. Sorry...
