10:08 AM ET 08.05 | Brad Keselowski has three Sprint Cup wins for Roger Penske this season. He also hopes he has his boss's ear when it comes to finding a replacement for recently-dismissed teammate AJ Allmendinger. "I hope that we can secure a teammate that is an elite talent that I can work with -- and certainly some of that responsibility is mine to communicate," Keselowski said. "I think that's something that Mr. Penske takes very seriously." Keselowski, currently ninth in the point standings, wants to be part of the decision-making process.

Good point -- I am sure the Captain and Ski will talk ...

Kenseth.....

Combining people that can get along within any group is a good thing. We have already seen what Brad Keselowski can do and what can happen when the wrong driver/teammate is in place. I think he has good reason to want input for a team mate. IMO he will have some input in this decision to a certain degree. Rain delay, yard-work and waiting for the start for me today.

Yep -- Jr was sayin' it was not right from the start -- jumpin' out of gear ... not going in gear. Went down hill from there ... DAMN!!! The should be able to put another gear-box in and get him back out there -- no DNF ...

August 5, 2012  04:06 PM ET

Sounds like Jr is not the only one with gear-box problems ...

Damn -- Jr just ducked a bullet!! ... and as I saw it, JJ did not take out Matt. If anything, Matt came down on the 48 and it all went to hell from there ... Hambone had no where to go ... Just hard racing.

I don't think Mr. Penske needs input from Kes lowsey, Brad is still a snot nose punk who thinks he Knows everything! Penske hae been hiring and firing long before Brad was around. Maybe he should team up with Kurt Bush again ?

You are right -- the Captain has been around a long time and has probably forgot more about racing thean many know ... however, he DOES know the importance of communication ...

well, NASCAR surely screwed this one up..

POCONO: one fan was killed in that lightning strike, track officials say

lol @ knowing for hours a severe storm was coming yet waiting until it actually hit to pull the cars on pit road..

"FWIW, @poconoraceway tweeted at 4:21 p.m. that a storm with "severe lightning" was in the area. Cars were still on track until 4:42 p.m."

that sucks. I hope the big man helton and france and the rest take heat for this. They have been making terrible decisions for a long time.

I got a quick question for jr fans. Im just curious. Ive noticed that when jimmie johnson wins, or he screws up like today( unless he had an imaginary flat) that your quick to say congratulations jimmie, or it wasn't jimmies fault. When Gordon wins, no comment. lol its a random question I know, but I just noticed it and was curious. Its not just people on here, but most jr fans I run into are like that. Im glad Gordon finally got a break. He could have 3 or more wins this year.

well, the 48 & 88 are housed together, so its cool if the 48 wins.. he said he had a flat, not much you can do about that..

as for gordon, i'm not really a fan of his so it makes no difference to me if he wins or not.. i'm actually happy that he won today though because he did deserve a break and also it put another dagger in kryles chase hopes.. it's nothing against him, just don't really care.. (not to mention pocono sucks)
