Ravens PK Justin Tucker has made a favorable impression early in training camp, the way we hear it, and the undrafted free agent from Texas looms as a threat to at least push [Cundiff]. Tucker's leg strength and accuracy have been assets to this point, we're told. Preseason game performance could tell the tale in this competition. ... There's sentiment that if Cundiff, the winner of PFW's Golden Toe Award in 2010 as the NFL's top kicker, stays in reasonably good form, he could be tough to overtake. However, how he bounces back after a missed field goal in the waning moments of the AFC championship game ended his '11 campaign is being closely watched.

Beg to differ. That wasn't Cundiff's fault. At best what Cundiff could have done is extend the game. I entirely blame Evans. That was a perfectly thrown pass by Flacco to Evans.

half true. He cost them the AFC Championship. The Giants were on a roll and there is nothing show the Ravens would have won a Superbowl. flacco is good, but when under the kind of pressure the Giants were bringing he would have fared no better than Brady.

Probably. Most kickers understand that you don't make 100% of your kicks--some go awry. They just hope a bad one doesn't happen at the end of a big game.

Easy to say that the team had several chances to win without having it come down to a kicker. But that's what kickers are for. And like it or not, the reality is that it's all on the kicker when it comes down to that game-tying/game-winning FG. Just ask Scott Norwood.

Your missing the point, after he missed the kick, the Ravens offense once again had the ball, the receiver dropped the ball, at best his missed field goal would have tied the game up! With Scott Norwood, time ran out and his team never got the ball back, that's a huge difference!
