08:13 AM ET 08.06 | Even early in the run-up to the 2012 college football season, Louisville, behind head coach Charlie Strong, is embracing expectation that it will win the Big East. [Strong] and his players do not shrink from public perceptions or the pressures they impose. They expect to be good and are liable to get greedy. ... "One of our big goals is to win the Big East championship," senior center Mario Benavides said. "We're definitely not looking past that ... [but] obviously, we feel we can win the Big East, and now we're moving toward having bigger goals. Like, 'Hey, if we can win the Big East, while we're at it, let's go win the national championship or a big-time BCS game.' There's no reason why we can't go do something like that."

As crazy as it sounds, you've got to go in to every game believing your going to win or there is no use in competing.

Winning the Big (L)East, how/why is this conference still a BCS conference? It's like one notch above the Sun Belt.

I didn't even know that Louisville had a football team!!!!! :-)

QUOTE(#7):

Rattler, that does not sound crazy, it is the way it should be. You should ALWAYS think you can win the game you are playing, that is the job of the coaches to instill that.

If that is the case, then what happened to Kentucky's football team??? :-)

Ok, well I'd be more upset with a teammate for saying the teams he thought we would loose to than for him to say we can beat every team we play. I'd like to hear your comments if Matt Barkley said, '' Honestly, I think we'll loose a few games this year".
