08:17 AM ET 08.06 | At least on paper, the addition of Rick Nash has somewhat compromised the depth of the Rangers, and Marian Gaborik's absence won't help matters. That's why the Rangers remain keenly interested in signing free agent winger Shane Doan, who will turn 36 in early October and is seeking a four-year deal as he confronts the separation issues that will accompany his departure from Phoenix, his home for the last 16 years. Doan, who understandably wants this to be the last move he makes, is believed to have narrowed his sights on Manhattan, Pittsburgh and Vancouver. It's unclear if Rangers general manager Glen Sather is willing to go four years, but if he does, Doan is more likely than not to become a Blueshirt.

Enough is enough. The money and years for this guy surpassed ridiculous about 2 weeks ago.

Time for a new story. Who was that new U-18 US star again?

BTW, "separation issues"? Seriously? I hope this is more crap reporting from the NY Post.

Does the NY POST have editors? That first line is pure gold.....
As far as the story itself? hogwash.
"Seperation issues" are for the gossip pages
And lastly....anyone that gives a 36 year olde grinder (character guy though he may be) a 4 year deal for the kind of money he's seemingly getting...is a foole.

And the streak is unbroken.

I'd like to see Doan on the Pens, but not for the kind of money they were talking about.

LOL - and thank God it's Monday. We had to suffer through Saturday and Sunday with only one Doan thread a day.

I really hope they blow this CBA up and we can come back to reality. This much fuss over a 36 year old who has scored 55, 60 and 50 points in his last 3 seasons is crazy.
Pens are a cup contender with a 10M cap cushion and can be a big buyer at the trade deadline.
Assuming we have season of course.

Don't know if I'm okay with it. Give him 2 years max...

I'd love to see the Rangers sign the old geezer. One less team for the Flyers to worry about this season ;)
