08:19 AM ET 08.06 | At last check, Coyotes captain and unrestricted free agent Shane Doan said he still prefered a return to Phoenix. The forward remains the top remaining free agent, and a source told CSNCalifornia.com earlier this week that the Sharks are still in play for his services. ... Reports have suggested that Doan is seeking a four-year deal worth $30 million, for an annual cap hit of $7.5 million. An NHL source has informed CSNCalifornia.com that if those demands are true, San Jose will not be among his suitors, and that the Sharks will not offer more than a three-year deal for approximately $4.5 million per season. Still, if Doan wants to remain close to Phoenix without actually playing there, his options could be limited.

At 4 years and 7.5 per, Doan will end up in Minnesota. No one else is that stupid, not even CBJ or TOR.

Agreed. They would not pay it to Arnott (right move) so they should not consider it for Doan either.

See..............as Donald Fehr would say.................you're all guilty of collusion. The guy is just coming into his own at 36 years old and is due an $8 million per year deal for a term of maybe.......oh, 37 years with an option for 50 more.
