08:35 AM ET 01.13 | The Rockets seem to be doing fine without Tracy McGrady, who has circled Jan. 19 as his return date from his latest set of injuries. Houston won six of its first eight games without McGrady, who is rapidly wearing out his welcome in Houston, with teammates tired of waiting on him. They are more than willing to play around Yao Ming.

I think Indiana would be a great place for him. Trade Danny Granger, Jamall Tinsley, and Mike Dunleavy for T-Mac and Alston. Maybe even through in a 1st rounder to go to Houston.

January 13, 2008  09:05 AM ET

yeah.. he'll give j.oneal some company in the bench =]

January 13, 2008  09:19 AM ET

Might as well called him the tin man

January 13, 2008  09:22 AM ET

He is exactly what you get when you have boys playing with men. When is the NBA going to realize 19 - 20 yr. olds with no form of education are an asset to what I use to consider the 2nd best sport on earth. He has been in the leage long enough to know by now that he is not on the same level as superstar players. How many teams has he played for? I really don't watch b-ball anymore and hate football season is almost over.Where as I use to get ready for the NBA all -star and 2nd half of the season, I now find myself waiting on the NFL draft. So thanks T-Mac, Kobe, Knicks, & McHale, you all have made something fans loved into an after thought. P.S., Got to give some credit to the commish and the refs.

January 13, 2008  09:24 AM ET

19 - 20 yr. olds are not an asset to the league.

January 13, 2008  09:30 AM ET

Yeah boy Jermaine O'Neal, Kevin Garnett, Kobe Bryant, Amare Stoudemire Dwight Howard, and LeBron James really have hurt the league

January 13, 2008  09:34 AM ET

OK, take away Kobe and how many rings?

January 13, 2008  09:37 AM ET

Ok take away tim duncan and shaq.

How many rings in the entire league?

January 13, 2008  09:39 AM ET

Now granted Im assuming we might count MJ's last year, but the influx of high school players didnt begin until the 97-98 season

January 13, 2008  09:42 AM ET

And the league began it's decline around then. Remember, KG cound't pass a SAT test.

January 13, 2008  09:48 AM ET

You are making a complex problem far too simplistic

First you had the labor strike
MJ retires

All im arguing is that the bust rate of high school players is about the same as college players

But its really sad KG couldnt pass a SAT

January 13, 2008  10:06 AM ET

Most college players stayed what, a year or two if your lucky? What is really sad is still the lack of what basketball really means. Defense, man on man, no zone.Passing and hitting the open man. It's there, but no way near enough.Hell it's enough blame on all levels, high scool, too.

January 13, 2008  10:07 AM ET

school.

January 13, 2008  11:05 AM ET

if i were the pacers i would not trade granger for him. danny has a lot of upside, and he does not get injured. but i do agree that the pacers need to shake up thir roster. maybe they could trade jamall, dunleavy, and maybe a second round pick for t-mac.

the pacers should also trade j'o. its obvious they are a better team when he is not playing. maybe they could trade him to atlanta for joe johnson, or to milwakee for redd. i would love to have joe johnson in indiana.

if the pacers make those deals they would have removed al the "bad blood" left from the pistons brawl days, and really start fresh.

PG: Joe Johnson
SG: T-mac
SF: Granger
PF:Diogu
C:Foster

Bench: Daniels, Williams, Rush, Murphy, owens, diener, harrison, and graham

they would need to upgrade the back part of their bench in the offseason, and draft a PG w/ their 1st draft pick.

and they also should fire LArry Bird, he has run this team into the griund. let walsh figure out what players we need.

January 13, 2008  11:21 AM ET

Stop crying the state of the league and its high school stars. Baseball and hockey practice worse things in that regard. Sports ae based on potential. The time is always now, even teams building for the future. TMAC, to my disappointment, hasn't fulfilled all that much, except solidifying himself as a great individual star. No posteason success in Houston. His time may be up. I say trade him back to the East. What possible destinations do you guys see for TMAC?

January 13, 2008  11:24 AM ET

I don't blame them. I'm getting tired of McGrady too. I think it's good that the Rockets have learned to play without him, since that's basically what they have to do every season he's on that team.

January 13, 2008  11:25 AM ET

Both atlanta and houston will not accept the offers

January 13, 2008  11:26 AM ET

hahahahaha its sik skillz i have never heard anything so stupid in my life....

tinsley dunleavy and a second rounder for tmac lol.... ok tmac is injury prone but he is a solid player and i tell u wat he is worth alot more than that housten arnt gonna give him up for that rubbish.

and oneal for joe johnson or redd hahahahahahahahahaha JO is a average player johnson and redd both awesome players there is no way in this world those teams would do that deal... plus add in the salaries wouldnt work... its obvious u no nothing about basketball... u cant just trade ur junk to other teams for there star players.... tmac joe johnson and redd are stars...

might as well see if the cavs would trade lebron for granger and oneal lol!!

January 13, 2008  11:41 AM ET

tinsely dunleavy 2nd rounder and a bench player, but t-mac isnt worth that much right now. sure hes good, but he is injured every other week.

and jo would just be the headline for a trade for joe johnson, no player on the pacers is untouchable, so u could put any player there.

they should just keep granger and williams and add more pieces around them.

but im glad i amused u kmahl....and good things u are a lakers fan (the pacers are my 2nd favorite team)

McGrady coming out of high school has absolutely nothing to do with his success or lack thereof in the NBA. He has back problems. This leads to a number of other injuries as he attempts to compensate. He would probably be better off in retirement. As long as he continues to play, this will continue to happen.
