08:07 AM ET 08.07 | Dwight Howard's name isn't gaining much positive spin these days in Orlando. [Howard] is physically able to attend Dodgers games in Los Angeles, but he can't attend his own youth basketball camp in Orlando? Really, Dwight? Seriously? According to an official at his annual basketball day camp for children, Dwight Howard will not attend this year, and families who paid the camp's $199 registration fee were sent e-mail messages Monday to inform them Howard will remain in Southern California in order to continue rehabilitating his back. Originally, Howard was scheduled to be back in Orlando a few days after having out-patient back surgery, but he hasn't been seen by the Magic in Orlando in more than three months.

I love kids too, I have a lovely daughter and a host of kids in my church ministrey that I'm involved with. I understand the kid perspective completely.

I will not blame Howard on this one if he simply refund all the parents who kids participate in his camp.

It is clear and should be very clear to the Magic and the citizens of Orlando that Howard is cutting ties to the community and would simply just like to move on. The Magic and the people of Orlando seems to be the ones who are illusioned by their tainted vision that somehow Howard wants to stay or maybe somehow this can all be resolved amicabally......I got news for ya....it can't.

"It is time to move Howard". DO YOU HEAR ME MAGIC,.....CITIZENS OF ORLANDO?

QUOTE(#16):

No, I'm just excited about the first draft pick Hennigan made.I would want my kids around a young man that excelled in basketball but also excelled in school and studied Physics." Nicholson, 22, switched from chemistry to physics at St. Bonaventure, sold on the school after getting a glimpse of the William Welsh Science Center."Who would you want your kid spending time with? This young man or Dwight Howard? It' a no brainer for me since Dwight is basically old news in Orlando. Let your kid look at a young man like Nicholson as a role model.

The Cavs always tried to draft "character" guys. (exception LBJ) San Antonio does the same. It's the new MODEL for teams and is a good model. Except if you want a ring.
