08:09 AM ET 08.07 | The Red Sox front office chimed in Monday on the job status of Bobby Valentine, who received a vote of confidence from Ben Cherington. [This] is a complicated Red Sox season. Nothing remotely related to it is black and white, and neither was Cherington's endorsement. "Bobby's our manager, and we're not considering anyone else," Cherington said. ... In the next breath, however, Cherington stopped short of committing to Valentine for the rest of the season. "I'm not going to comment on that," he said. "He's our manager. I'm not getting into timelines. I'm not going to get into a timeline for myself either. We're just doing the job right now, doing the job the best we can, and we're focused on making it better and I support Bobby."

The new GM is already admitting fault for hiring the wrong guy to manage the clubhouse. Lol! I'm glad the cocky RedSox isn't doing so well this season.

DAMMIT! Another Tomase story?
What's he trying to do, out-Shaughnessey Shaughnessey? One was bad enough in Boston, but more than one is a violation of the FN Convention against Cruel and Unusual Articles.

there is no such thing as a LOW for the Herald.

Actually, Tomase hit rock bottom when he lied about the Pats taping the Rams walk-thru.
This would be an improvement over that, but again, it's a "tallest midget" sort of comparison.

Cherington was very clear that managment is not blaming Valentine for the Sox's poor season, and has no intention of dumping him any time soon.
To say he did not commit to Valentine for the rest of the season based on his response to a loaded question is poor journalism. That's the reporter trying to make the story, not report it.

The owner just released a memo in support of Valentine. I doubt the RSox will make a move during the season, no matter how hard the papers work to get Bobby V fired.

There are 51 Games left they are 4 Games out of the Wild Card, he's done a great job, and his main job is to Clean House and get rid of all those veterans who want to manage the Team. He will be in Boston a long time!
