Root of the problem in Miami

08:10 AM ET 08.07 | An offseason that generated interest in Miami has given way to another disappointing regular season. Marlins owner Jeffrey Loria needs to understand this: He squandered his taxpayer gift of a new stadium and failed dreadfully this season. Everyone can draw a list of why the Marlins season went splat. Every list should start here: Loria. Failed. Dreadfully. His baseball people have started sorting the mess with a series of trades pointed to tomorrow. But it's only a start. Nothing is cleaned up. And it means little if Loria doesn't stay out of the way. ... The owner is a meddler of the highest order. On some level, it's his team, his money and he can do whatever he pleases. But the way he's running it the organization looks like a completed disorganization.

Somehow or other I don't think that Jose was ready to be the leader!

the best part about it for me a Mets fan and NL East rival...is that the trades they pulled off weren't even that good....Reyes and Stanton...after that who knows ...and for how long....

John Henry should hire Ozzie to manege the red Sox -- Ozzie will not take the crap Valentine is - Ozzie will just take Pedroia, Gonzalez, and others into the dug out and puch their whiny lights out

They have some nice pieces at the major league level, and added a lot of depth to their farm system; they should be able to build an annual contender. But why the picture of Ozzie Guillen? He may not have helped the team much, but he didn't cause it to fail either.

Correct... After watching Reyes in NY since he came up, I can say Jose cares about one thing... and that's Jose :-)

Have to disagree with the article.

Is Loria a bad owner? Yep
Has he done bad things to the Fans of his team and the town? Yep
Did he blow up this team too quick ? Yep

However - he did open up his wallet and bring in guys to help make the team better. Obviously, that didn't work out - but you can't blame him for that.
