08:17 AM ET 08.07 | Gone from the Nashville roster are Ryan Suter, Francis Bouillon, Jack Hillen, Alexander Radulov, Andrei Kostitsyn, but goaltendning remains one stable area. Starter Pekka Rinne is 29, entering his prime and had arguably the best season in team history last season, winning a franchise record 43 games. He was a Vezina Trophy finalist the last two seasons. But this coming season the Predators may look to take a more cautious approach with Rinne. He played 73 games. The last time a goaltender played in 70 or more games and won a Stanley Cup was 2003. ... In order to lower Rinne's minutes, the Predators signed Chris Mason (a Predators from 1998-2008) as a free agent.

but assuming the Preds are even close to a PO spot, I suspect Rinne will still end up having to play 60+ games, even on back to back nights, to give them the best chance to win

but the more important question is...WHO IS EDITING THIS RUBBISH?
Chris Mason (a Predators from 1998-2008) as a free agent.

A Prdeators? really? I know that's it's a hockey column in Tennessee, but good god man....

Memo to Self:

No matter how tempting, no matter how long the odds, DO NOT even THINK about a bet on the Preds to win the SC. Not even at 100-1.

editing - that's funny...
I think this of this as more of a "for fun" sports area with words... editing doesn't exist, unless you are using potty language

no disrespect meant to my Confederate friends, sorry if it came out that way. I was alluding to a the newspaper coverage of a sport that isn't exactly "native"
Listen, as you may have noticed on some of the stories, our (NYC) papers aren't that great either

We lost our backup during the offseason. Signing Mason was probably less about Pekks and more about needing a replacement for Lindback.

none taken....my wife, the grammar goddess, refuses to read the Tennessean due to the tremendous amount of grammatical errors..she will not let her students read it in class.....I am edited daily....an everyday battle around our house...but with that being said, you are correct, hockey is still in a building process in our area, but one would think that it would be easy to proof this article and correct easily....

They're trying to get the site a tad more classy Canuck. Cartoon geese are childish, but I gotta agree you can't go wrong with beaver!

I hacked their accounts and changed em all to Burkie. Clearly I pissed off the FN authorities.

It's too bad I couldn't figure out yours though, had a world-class goaltender photo for that lovely little square...

Does anyone in the hockey world give a ats rass about the Predators?? Move to Quebec City and I will start to care.
