Deng: Bulls' chances took a hit

08:13 AM ET 08.08 | Chicago forward Luol Deng, himself a different player than a year ago, will return to a very different Bulls team in October. The Bulls, of course, will have to cope without Derrick Rose for much of the forthcoming season as he recovers from knee surgery. Moreover, Kyle Korver, C.J. Watson and Omer Asik have been allowed to leave, with the returning Kirk Hinrich, Nazr Mohammed, Marco Belinelli and Vladimir Radmanovic all moving in the opposite direction. It is a state of affairs that has clearly been noted, with a raised eyebrow, from [London]. "It's definitely going to be tough being without him," said Deng of Rose's loss. ... "We've lost some guys I really wish had stayed, who I'm friends with and close with."

Yes it does.....

How many different ways can T&R rehash this story?

Yes but it's a smart business and basketball move. They didn't overpay to keep those players in a year where they won't be competing for a championship. They are toast without Rose so why get championship parts when he won't be in prime shape to lead them to one.

Makes you suspect the Bull brain thrust do not believe Rose will fully recover....in any event Bulls are positioned to be elite again with a healthy Rose. If Rose can't be himself again, they won't be stuck with bad contracts and bad talents like the Knicks did for ten years. I love the Bulls and Mavs front office henchmen..

That's a good question and one we'll have to sit tight for the answer to. I anticipate at least another 10+ attempts.

I'll make the popcorn, you bring the beer.

They seem to have a list of websites they check for T&R topics every day. If there's nothing new they just toss out a Lakers, Knicks or Dwight Howard rumor. Looks like the Bulls are part of the rotation now.

True-dat. Here's the latest: Dang, I predict that Deng is gone. Finally...

Really? What makes you think that?

And what "bad contracts" did they get rid of?

Brewer, Watson and Korver are ALL in the last season of their current contracts with two of those contracts being Team Options.....and none of those players were due to make $6 million (Watson will make $3 million and change).

Seriously......a basic lack of knowledge of what you post + flawed logic will combine to make you look/sound silly.........every time!

QUOTE(#17):

how will you spin this one retired army guy?

Dr Deng yesterday proclaimed his wrist perfect, now GM deng has said the off season moves weren't good

so should he stick to the medical profession?

or should he take over the GM duties?

No spin required.

Deng doesn't like the Bulls' off season moves (he's entitled to his opinion)......and I didn't like them either.

And when Deng talks about his wrist and the chances of him needing or not needing surgery, he consults with the surgeon that did the work on his other wrist.

Pretty cut and dried.......unless you're a tin man ;-) .
