Rangers still in expensive Doan sweepstakes

08:28 AM ET 08.08 | The Rangers are indeed one of the three teams in which Shane Doan has interest, but, again, his intention of staying in Phoenix has been reiterated. Agent Terry Bross confirmed that a team outside of New York has offered Doan a four-year deal worth at least $7 million per season, both a high price and long term for a player who turns 36 on October 10 and racked up his lowest point total last season (50) since 2001-02. There is no telling whether that offer comes from a team in which Doan has interest. ... The Rangers also likely would face stiff competition from Vancouver if Doan jets from Phoenix. His wife Andrea grew up in the area; the couple own a house on Shuswap Lake in British Columbia and vacation there in the summers with their four children.

Bored and sleepy

4 years? ok... And why has Doan not taken this alleged 4 year deal?

Because the interns won't let him. They need him to keep filling a thread or two a day.

I wouldn't give him more than 2 years, with maybe a club option for a 3rd. If he won't take it, I wish him luck wherever he might go.

Well, that should take the Pens out of the picture. 4x7M for a 36yo 20+ goal scorer?

Yeeaaah...no.

maybe, just maybe, Doan has had this dream so many times, that he actully believes it now....may turn out to be his worst nightmare when nobody steps up and he stays a yote...
