08:00 AM ET 08.10 | No stranger to wide receivers whose reputations precede them, Jerry Jones may be willing to take on another. [The Cowboys] have had preliminary discussions with agent Drew Rosenhaus regarding free-agent wide receiver Plaxico Burress, a source with knowledge of the situation said Thursday. The conversations are said to have been exploratory, and no signing is imminent, according to the source. Burress hasn't been able to find a landing spot after catching 45 passes for 612 yards and eight touchdowns last season with the New York Jets. Burress' monetary demands reportedly have been an obstacle in him finding a suitor. The Cowboys have experienced a litany of wide receiver issues throughout the offseason.

I would agree. It's way past time Ogletree move on. I'd be surprised if he survives the early cuts.

The Cowboys knew all winter they were one player short at WR. This is no surprise.

Hope the Cowboys aren't shooting themselves in the foot ... er, thigh with this.

Drew Rosenhaus must have some very embarrassing pictures of Jerry Jones to get him to do this.

I guess he would be OK for the right price, just a little dumd is all. I've got an inlaw who has accidently shot a television, a refriderator, a hard wood floor and a picture hanging on the wall. He's an alright guy, I just don't hang out when he's cleaning guns.

He could still be a productive receiver and managed to be one of the few Jets who didn't cause problems last year. At the right price, he's an OK add on.

On the other hand, he's not there anymore, is he?

He might not have been part of the circus, but he didn't contribute much on the field, either.

Plax can provide protection when Dez goes to visit his mom.

In fairness, Sanchez was the QB.

Dez's brother damn sure would mind his P's & Q's...

Dez's mom would see the bulge in Plax's pants, and suddenly she'd be all business.

Plax played great last year when you think about who his QB is...i think he can still be relevant.

Makes all the difference in the world...Romo is light years better in terms of production

You have a point there.

Rosenhaus always over-values his clients, especially receivers, and that typically leads to problems in their getting signed to a contract. It is no different here.
