Nebraska on the rise

08:19 AM ET 08.10 | Preparing for a college football season isn't ever easy, but Nebraska offensive coordinator Tim Beck had it awfully difficult this time last year, as he installed a new offense while joining a new conference. Then to now is like going from calculus to addition, Beck says. ... Quarterback Taylor Martinez also should be more comfortable. "Number one, he has a bank of reps now," Beck says. "So, if we're running a play, and he ran it last fall, and he ran it this past spring, and now he's running it again, he's getting a better understanding." Martinez threw only two interceptions (in 165 attempts) during the last seven regular-season games. "He was growing at running our team and audibiling, and not putting the team in bad situations," Beck says.

What say all you corn aggies? Does this sound right?

Nope, but Guido, FJJ and JRM may have a different view. From what I know a team must have acted like aggie at some point in order to earn such. Sooners and Horns have acted up in other ways, but never aggie like. Can't ever recall Kansas, K-State or Iowa State ever acting that way either. We'll see how TCU does. WVa already has earned it and haven't even played a game yet. Now, Tech (sand aggie), Okie Lite (imposter aggie) and Baylor (Bible aggie) have done so many times along with Mizzou and Nebraska.

Ever since Bill Callahan drove the program into the ground the Cornheads haven't been the same, the Fans use to be loud and boisterous, now they just act like they don't real care anymore.

I believe it all started with the 2001 loss to Colorado, they were so pissed off about that blowout, 62-36. Frank Solich was never forgiven. And then with the luck of the draw they got an invite to the Rose, well you know the rest, pure embarrassment at the hands of the U.

Big Reds first 4 games seem to always be cream puffs, the real season never really starts for them til October. At any rate i cant wait for their season to start, like i said, great match ups!

I think Nebraska will be much improved this year. We'll see just how improved they are when they play Wisconsin and tOSU back-to-back, then 2 weeks later they play Mich and MichSt back-to-back.

With Northwestern in the middle, a 28-25 loss in Lincoln last season. Every conference game should be exciting. The fans I've heard from seem to think Wisconsin will become their main rival but clearly it should be Iowa.
