09:41 AM ET 08.11 | Lucas Duda didn't endear himself to Mets officials with his "sulking" after his demotion to the minor leagues last month, but the outfielder could return to the majors even before rosters expand on Sept. 1, a club source said yesterday. After a dreadful initial stretch at Triple-A Buffalo, the 26-year-old entered last night???s play 8-for-21 (.381) with two homers and five RBIs in his last six games for the Bisons. He didn???t play last night. Duda was optioned to Buffalo on July 24 after a 6-for-43 (.140) skid with the Mets. He initially did not take the demotion as well as the team had hoped (Duda believed he deserved the same leeway Ike Davis received earlier this season in battling his hitting slump, the source said), but has rebounded in the last week.

I can see how bringing a guy up who's struggling at the plate and has a chip on his shoulder would be good for the club.

Wait....

Just about every young player on that team is swinging for the fences, keep him in the minors until he learns how to be a contact hitter, Davis And Bay have done a great job of showing how easy it is to strike out!

Duda had a right to be disgruntled...Davis was a stiff for the first 3 months of the season ...came alive for a 2 week span and now he's back go being a stiff again....he's been stuck on 61 RBI's for two weeks now....Duda is no savior by any means but he did provide a longball threat ....Jorhdany (sic) Valdespin who took Duda's spot hasn't done a damned thing since he was handed a bigger role....Bring Duda back up let him play ...like this team has anything to lose....

The Mets need to send Duda a box of Dum DUm suckers and either tell him to grow up and start acting like a man or enjoy the suckers big baby.

Interesting point. It makes me wonder, if all the young ones are homer happy, if maybe that is what they are being taught in the minors. Or if the only way to get promoted to the majors is to hit a bunch of HR on the farm.
