Mathieu hasn't talked to McNeese St. coach -- yet

10:10 AM ET 08.11 | Heisman Trophy finalist and now former LSU Tiger Tyrann Mathieu has not contacted McNeese State, said Cowboys head coach Matt Viator. Not yet, anyway. Mathieu was kicked off LSU's football team by coach Les Miles Friday for an undisclosed violation of team rules. Mathieu is eligible to play right away for a Football Championship Subdivision program, and the Internet was abuzz with speculation McNeese will be that program after former LSU teammate Josh Jasper congratulated Mathieu via Twitter on enrolling at McNeese. "@TM7_Era already transferred to McNeese! Staying in the boot!" Jasper's tweet read, referring to Mathieu's Twitter handle. Viator shot down the former Tiger kicker's claim, but did say he is open to meeting with Mathieu.
