09:08 AM ET 08.12 | Mike Krzyzewski's last game as U.S. coach will be for an Olympic gold medal. As the American men's team prepared to play Spain for the Olympic title, Krzyzewski told the Associated Press that the game will be his final one as national coach, a position he has held for seven years. Krzyzewski had left open the possibility of staying with the team beyond the London Games, but before practice on Saturday said these will be his last Olympics. When asked if he was sure, Krzyzewski didn't hesitate before again saying, "Yes," this will be his last game.

I laughed. I cried. This story has now become part of my life! Windorifice is giving up a paid vacation - whoopity-doo.

At this point in the game the NBA refs would switch to the fouls-for-superstars strategy.

Dominant big men in the paint? That's a lost art that doesn't have much of a NBA application anymore.
When someone like LeBron is allowed to run you over ... and they call the foul on YOU ... or someone like DWade throws an elbow to your chest ... and they call the foul on YOU ... then what's the use in playing strong defense in the paint? NBAs rules have changed over the years to fit the streetballers.
No, our strategy seems to be (1) scare them with our tatoos and (2) overpower them with offense.

Just imagine what Coach K could have done with players who gave a <hit about all facets of the game especially defense.
I did not watch a single Olympic basketball game because I had no desire to watch NBA streetball players. I have great respect for Kobe Bryant and I think he's the most fundamentally sound basketball player I've ever seen. I also love Kevin Durant and Kevin Love impressed me ... but please ... Carmello Anthony couldn't guard my grandmother because of his lack of desire. He just wants to score.
I'd rather watch young hungry guys who give a <**** about all facets of the game especially defense.
I can watch plenty of alley oops, dunks and 3 point rainbows in any pick up game on the mean streets of Dallas on any given weekend. Dallas streetballers have better tatoos too.

I think it was the right decision for him to give up the reigns for another coach to handle. Is he still capable of still continuing? Of course he is but why risk not being able to deliver in another 4 years in Rio.
Maybe coach K could see the changes that could be happening with the age limit for playpers.
