Another major for Kiawha's Ocean Course?

10:05 AM ET 08.12 | The famed Ocean Course on Kiawah Island, the site of the 2012 PGA Championship this weekend, has been down the aisle twice before with the PGA of America on its arm. Today, as the first "major" championship ever to be played on South Carolina soil draws to a close, local golf nuts are surely beginning to wonder: What's next for Kiawah and the Ocean Course as far as big-ticket tournaments go? The answer will depend in large part on the success of the 2012 PGA Championship, organizers agreed. The early feedback is favorable. Joe Steranka, chief executive officer of the PGA of America, called the public and private investment that went into the event "extraordinary." Who knows what tomorrow will bring to the Ocean Course. Another major, perhaps?

Congratulations to Slappy for correctly picking Rory IcIlroy to win the PGA Championship (no-one guessed the winning score of 275).
Next up, the Ryder Cup September 28-30 at Medinah.

Awesome if you like courses ill-designed for their location. You saw what happened on Friday: The soft conditions and the high winds spelled disaster. You need to have the ability or at the very least the option to play the ball on the hard ground more on a links course, conditions you naturally find on just about every links course in the UK where you don't have to hit 250-yard carries and where they usually leave the front of the green open so you can run up the ball to the putting surface. I hope they never play another major on that course again.

Thanks Stranger. Of course I analyzed the event and the players extremely carefully, obtained opinions from golf fans world-wide and took about 46 hours to run the facts through my various computer programs. I then depended on plain blind luck. Blind luck always is the winner! Congrats not to me, but to Rory Mac. Great kid I hope he continues to win regularly.

The best news now is that we don't have to read the moronic SI writers and their man-love about showboat or have to listen to Brandel Chamblee for another eight months. Frank Nobilo is the one and only sane person that The Golf Channel has. And, if The Golf Channel couldn't have sunk any lower, they went and hired Tripp Eisenower--you remember him? The snarky clown that killed the hawk. Arguably the most disliked player that was ever on tour.

And could Golf mag get rid of Cameron Morfit? He is as dumb as he is ugly. Ah, wait a minute, no. Still, we'd appreciate writers that can think.

Hehe.
Congrats to Slappy from me as well. McIlroy was tuned in nicely yesterday and never wavered.
On a sour note, the network coverage was still Tiger centric and so was the Direct TV expanded coverage.

Anyone else noticed how ugly Tiger's swing has gotten? It looks worse when he tries to force a shot.

Thanks for mentioning that Stranger. I'm no expert like many of you guys but I did note that sometimes his swing looked a tad "awkward". I don't trust my judgment on that stuff, but I do yours. Thanks to Rex and LoveItHate It too for the congrats. I've just enjoyed Rory since he came on the scene. Polite to the press (even the dummies) and the fans. Hard not to root for him.

Not a whole lot to dream up there, GoHabs. Foursomes (alternate shot) in the mornings, four balls (best ball) in the afternoons on Friday and Saturday, singles on Sunday, first team at 14 1/2 wins (in case of a 14-14 tie, Europe keeps the Cup as defending champion). I do have an idea in mind. For that though, I need the complete 12-man lineups from both sides and we won't know them till September 4. I'll bring it up again then.
