08:09 AM ET 08.13 | While a certain wide receiver dominates Dolphins headlines coming out of the weekend, quarterbacks should have the spotlight back by the end of the week. Dolphins coach Joe Philbin kept the door open Sunday for Ryan Tannehill to start in Friday's preseason game at Carolina, saying he "wouldn't rule out" the possibility if Tannehill outperforms Matt Moore in practice this week. Offensive coordinator Mike Sherman characterized the competition between Tannehill and Moore for the starting quarterback job as fairly even, saying "both guys have been doing extremely well. "I'm just anxious to let it play out, and we'll get that person the reps they need to play."

Unless Moore has completely regressed to Leinart clipboard status he is not even with Tannehill.

Regardless of who starts a quarterback, will they have any receivers to drop the ball?

Those poor kids. Lifelong dream of starting for an NFL team destroyed by the Dolphins.

Can they run fast enough to avoid serious injury might be a more relevant question

Wow, this is almost reaching Sanchez/Tebow status in terms of 'I don't care.'

Joe Philbin looks like he should be pumping gas or changing oil. Not real impressive as a head coach.

I don't think so. For one thing, nobody changes oil in a white shirt.

Only at the hockey rink.

Give Philbin a blue shirt with his name on the pocket then ask for a fill-up..

Then he should join the Jets. It's illegal to pump your own gas in New Jersey.

That's civilized, I can't deal with the whole pump your own gas thing when I am back there

So I've been reading about this Ryan guy and I'm a little confused. Maybe some of you still living the dream over there in the US can help me out on this one. If this Ryan guy is the great new secret weapon why isn't he running for President?

Newly tapped Republican vice presidential contender Paul Ryan is facing off against President Barack Obama as the front lines in the battle for the White House shift to Iowa.
While Mitt Romney continues a Florida bus tour, Ryan will meet voters at the Iowa State Fair, campaigning alone for the first time in the same state where Obama launches a bus tour of his own.
Monday's events may help determine whether conservative excitement for the Wisconsin congressman -- and his controversial budget plans -- will overshadow Romney's own economic message.

He is a former Oscar Meyer Wienermobile driver.

According to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, ???One of his summer jobs in college was as an Oscar Mayer salesman in Minnesota, peddling turkey bacon and a new line called ???Lunchables??? to supermarkets. He drove the Wienermobile once.??? [Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, 4/26/09]

Wasn't Garrard in the mix, too? I must have missed something when I dozed off.
