08:20 AM ET 08.13 | Welcome to the big leagues, Manny Machado. For months, the list of youngest players in the major leagues began like this: 1. Bryce Harper, 2. Mike Trout. Then the Orioles called up [Machado], who is three months older than Harper and 11 months younger than Trout. And who, based on his first four days in the big leagues, can fit in quite comfortably with both of them in terms of excitement generated. In his first game, Machado had a single, a triple and a standing ovation. In his second game, he had two home runs, another standing ovation and a curtain call. By Sunday, when he homered again, Orioles fans were greeting him in every at-bat with chants of "Man-ny! Man-ny!"

I think it's just a bit premature to be singing praises to this guy. Let's at least see him play for a month before the fellating begins.

It would be nice to see this guy succeed, no doubt. The Orioles could really use an injection of youthful talent.

So true. As I'm O's fan though, Machado has batted against the worst pitchers in the majors and I just hope he does well against the better pitchers.

It's always exciting to see another young talent come up to the bigs but you have to give it some time before you really know what a player is going to be at this level.

Well, at least that is closer than the RA Dickey picture--Harper is holding a bat, and the story is about how well Machado hit in his first 3 games! Maybe the interns need a curfew and a 3 beer limit.

Based on how bad the interns do with pictures for these T&Rs they should lay off alcohol altogether on work nights.

I think Bryce has put too much pressure on himself. The team is doing so well and I think he tries to be an All-Star every at-bat. He'll soon get to his zone again when he realizes he doesn't need to carry the team all by himself. Machado looks terrific....after a few games. I do hope he does well. Good looking kid so far. I agree with you about Trout. Unbelievable.
