NHLPA planning lockout barnstorming tour

08:29 AM ET 08.13 | If forced from their day jobs, what will the NHL's locked-out players be doing? With a lockout looming larger, the National Hockey League Players' Association is quietly making plans for a series of star-studded exhibition games should the NHL shut down this fall. Sources tell Sportsnet's John Shannon that games between a team of Russian all-stars from the Kontinental Hockey League and "world" all-stars from the NHL are tentatively set for Moscow, Halifax and Quebec City, as well as an undetermined site in Southern Ontario. Donald Fehr, the NHLPA's executive director, spoke with representatives of the Russian league while overseas last week. ... The NHLPA would neither confirm nor deny it is making any such plans for exhibitions.

I'm sure those games will have free admission, $1 beers, no-charge parking and large charitable contributions from the NHLPA to inner city youth for hockey leagues in non-traditional markets. If it wasn't so pathetic it could be a spot on SNL. The ownership in the NHL is greedy, has no foresight, no "plan" for the future and no ethics. Those are their good points. The NHLPA, under Fehr's leadership, is arguably worse.

I think Bettman needs to go to Lockout-Anonymous because the man truly has a problem. 1994, 2004, and probably 2012. "Hi I'm Gary Bettman, and I have a problem....." Thats the first step Gary!
