Bengals mum on Johnson's mouth

Like players on a receiving team scrambling to get away from a punt rolling to the end zone, Bengals players on Saturday wanted nothing to do with Chad Johnson's comments made Friday on a national radio show. Johnson said fingers were pointed at him and he was labeled a cancer, a distraction and the reason the Bengals slumped to a 7-9 record. The Bengals, including head coach Marvin Lewis, have declined comment on Johnson's allegation.

It's because this is a ridiculous story... No one takes it seriously except for the media.

January 13, 2008  12:16 PM ET

and the multitude of FN posters who will claim chad would be better off on team XYZ.

frankly, brown would need a police escort around town if he traded chad.

January 13, 2008  12:27 PM ET

Just about everybody has said it...it's not Ocho Cinco, though he pretty much sucked this year. It's all about the defense (or lavk of).

January 13, 2008  12:28 PM ET

lavk = lack

January 13, 2008  01:40 PM ET

Send him to Minnesota.

January 13, 2008  01:58 PM ET

safetyblitz - how can you say he sucked this year? 1440 yards and 9 TD's... ummm that doesnt suck

January 13, 2008  02:58 PM ET

The Vikings would give a lot to get Ocho.

January 13, 2008  09:24 PM ET

Maybe Johnson should take a lesson from Randy Moss. You can have all the talent in the world but if you are not a TEAM PLAYER who really cares what you say or do.!!! Shut up and be a TEAM Player instead of the show-off crybaby you have been.

January 14, 2008  01:26 AM ET

Ocho Cinco.... you are welcome to come to the Jacksonville anytime you please... we got a your uniform and your "FUTURE H.O.F.er" trench coat ready and waiting.

Bengals are the best team in the NFL, As far as I m concerned, we have great fans, really the whole city of cincinnati will say that. In cincinnati if you want to watch the bengals in style good luck with that, all the bengals premium seats get sold out the day they show up in ticketmaster. bengals tickets are sometimes 2 or even 5 times the face value. Anyhow If you get lost I have a new sight for u guys

God bless Football

Chad...please go to San Francisco! We can use you there!

Please Mike Brown. Please trade Chad Johnson to the Niners. Pretty PLEASE.

January 14, 2008  07:54 AM ET

I wouldn't call him a cancer.. a unnessary distraction perhaps, albiet a talented one.

I will cut him a little slack.. the selfishness end is played up way too strongly in the media. If you are a WR and you don't want the QB looking your way, I don't want you on my team. No hunger, no desire, no production.

That said, I don't want to see his annoying face in Cleveland.

January 14, 2008  08:26 AM ET

Bengals are the best team in the NFL, As far as I m concerned.... - hannah.

Hey, I'm a lifelong Bengals fan, too. I spent many a Sunday afternoon freezing my rear-end off in Riverfront. But, "best team in the NFL"???? They haven't won a playoff game in nearly 20 years!

January 14, 2008  09:34 AM ET

Chad wants out of Cincinnati. He is the one fanning the fire. The Vikes have Sidney Rice, he is gonna be a star.

He would be better off with the Titans. They need help bad, plus they got hellacious free agent money next year.

January 14, 2008  12:29 PM ET

Randy Moss is on a winning team - that's why he's not a problem. I wonder if they Patriots had a losing season (ha!) if he would be such a good boy. Chad seems to be the same way. He wants to win, and he doesn't yet know how to be professional about losing. I hoped he wouldn't be a problem, but I'm sad he's taken this stance. I think he's a great player and there's no way the Bengals would trade him - salary cap and all would destroy them. I may blog about this a little later, but as much as I like Chad, I hate it that he's taken this road.

January 14, 2008  02:18 PM ET

Come to the Eagles Chad...we will treat you well. Just dont diss Super 5 and you will be ok....

January 14, 2008  03:08 PM ET

he's the biggest sissy that's always crying for attention. His touchdown celebrations are about as retarded as the special olympics. Don't really care where he ends up. Waste of talent!

January 14, 2008  03:58 PM ET

Oh, i almost forgot... He's not even the number one receiver on the Bungholes.
Take your gold teeth elsewhere.

January 14, 2008  04:40 PM ET

He should be sent to Baltimore to keep company with the NFL's group of elite thugs. Instead of "Ocho Cinco" he should have named himself "Cerrada su boca" -- Shut Your **** Mouth.

January 14, 2008  04:51 PM ET

Bengals would be smart to "Back off" Chad and let him play ball. Any team would be extremely lucky to have him. As a matter of fact....finger pointing belongs to alot of other players at this point. Bengals had a yucky season.....but I BELIEVE !
